With a little bit of research, I have found out a few of the hopefully many new features for WordPress 2.9. I also found some additional information which is the content below that is not in bullets.

2.9 is planned to be released sometime in late 2009.
It will now require MySQL 4.1.2 or greater. In the previous versions, it was 4.0 or greater.

  • A new layout (major/minor I do not know) for the admin screen
  • A new way for basic uploading and uploading media
  • Media albums
  • Easier video and third-party  content embeds
  • Basic image editing (such as cropping, rotating)
  • More media filters
  • Bulk media import API
  • Photostream
  • Post thumbnails
  • Custom image sizes
  • Revised media UI

That’s about all. It will be updated frequently.

Lockerz is a website where you earn points (or PTZ) for logging in, answering their daily question, and inviting your friends. With these PTZ you can buy all sorts of things ranging from a computer wallpaper to an Xbox 360, PS3, or an HDTV. Lockerz is a legitimate website run by the ex-Vice President of Amazon. Lockerz has millions and millions of members. The only way to join Lockerz is by an invite as their system would fail if you could just join with ease (because so many people would). Again, for an invite, please click here. You should receive your invite within 24 hours (sometimes within the hour).]
