How-to upgrade to the February 2010 new Facebook design.

This post will be relatively short:

Starting February 2010, everyone will start getting the new Facebook design.

While some people may have got it instantly, others may have take up to a full month for it to change for them.

Simply logging in and out will not upgrade your Facebook and people are saying that the new design is confusing and not simple at all.

I have done some research and there is nothing anybody can do to get the new Facebook design other than wait.

How to fix the red light Macbook headphone jack problem.

State the Problem

Is your Macbook’s headphone jack lighten up red?

Does your Macbook’s sound not work unless you have headphones in?

Experiment

Your not alone. Nearly 100s or more of people have experienced this problem and it is not the end of the world either.
What has happened is that a piece of lint or dirt has gotten into your Macbook headphone jack and has gotten over the microsensor which detects if headphones are plugged in or not.

How do you solve this?

Simply use a plastic toothpick/non-cotton end of a cotton swab/wooden end of a match and delicately try to clean out the headphone jack.

If the light remains red, remain calm. Try plugging in your headphones and pulling them out around 5-10 times but not to harshly.

If the light remains red, try plugging in your headphones and slowly twisting the pin inside of the headphone jack and see if the light finally turns off.

If that doesn’t work, try blowing (not to hard) air with your mouth only (no vacuum) into the jack and see if that works.

If it still fails, I suggest you try reading some of these forum topics rather than wasting money:

Many people want to know how to get free TV/Hulu or YouTube on their Xbox 360/PS3/Nintendo Wii. Today, you will learn how.

Using a helpful and easy-to-use tool called Playon Media Server, you will be able to share media to your gaming system (only supports Xbox 360, PS3, Wii). This ‘media’ includes: Hulu, YouTube, Amazon VOD, Netflix, and I’m sure there will be more.

Download it here, install, and continue reading.

Once you have downloaded and installed Playon Media Server, simply run it. To open up the settings for Playon, look in your system tray, right click on the blue ball with the orange icon inside and click Playon Settings. There you can add parental blocks, setup your Hulu/Amazon/YouTube usernames/Netflix account, playback settings, quality, and more.

To run it, simply right click on the blue ball with the orange icon inside in the system tray and click Run.

Once setup:
- It can be found on your Xbox 360 under the My Xbox section and in the Video Library
- I am not sure where to find it on the PS3 and Wii, but it does work on the PS3 and Wii compatibility is in beta testing

FaceBook users go wild as more and more begin to hate and be confused by the new 'Live Feed'.

In October 2009, FaceBook released a design upgrade which included remodeling of Pages/Groups and the all too famous News Feed.

FaceBook users join in one of the many famous group protests to get rid of this non-userfriendly interface which seems to be driving everyone up the wall. The new News Feed, known best as the ‘Live Feed’ continuously updates the feed without the need to refresh and without the need to click on a link to expand the new posts since you loaded the page. This becomes a hassle when you don’t want new updates repeatedly, and you may just want to keep the page organized. It would not of been such a big deal if FaceBook had not remodeled the actual updates that appear. Now we have to see who’s friends with who along with the number of people that are friends with the person. This includes Groups, Pages, or anything that you could possibly join/friend/like.

Another downside is when you post something and it gets almost immediatly bumped down the page. Sadly, there is no real fix the problem, and the only main fix is a hassle and still is a general live feed.

Here is somewhat of a way to get rid of the confusing layout:

Go to your Facebook home page

On the Feed sidebar, click the More link

Drag your prefered Feed (if you do not have one, create one and add the people you want in it) up to the very top of the list

Click again

Now you have your prefered feed as your default feed.

Negatives

Still remains a ‘Live Feed’

Still has the new status messages

Positives

Does not show News Feed link at top with a number count next to it

Does not look as cluttered

Thank you for reading.

Find out how to get all of the Halo 3: ODST Vidmasters (including Brainpan).

Being a person who has gotten all of the vidmasters, I know just how to get them. Today, I will be talking about the ODST vidmasters, including Brainpan.

1. Déja Vu
What To Do: Simply get your friends together and do it together.
Average Time: 1-2 hrs

2. Endure
What To Do: Go to the GameSpot ODST forums and post a topic titled ‘Endure – Need Help’. Tell them to send you a friend request and they will be invited. I guarantee you will get a full game within 5 minutes.
Average Time: 1-2 hrs
Notes: Make sure it hits Set 5 Round 1 Wave 1 before ending the game. Ending it right once you finish the final Bonus Round or before then will prevent you from getting the Vidmaster.

3. Brainpan
What To Do: Use your 2nd disc that came with your ODST game. Start a Forge game and get the skull on every Mythic Map.
Average Time: 5-15 mins
Notes: If you are doing it with your friends, make sure each person has held it. One person holding it does not give the achivement to everyone. To make it easy for you, click here for a video on it.

4. Classic
What To Do: Play Uplift Reserve and quickly flip the first warthog you see. Cut right around everything (you will encounter Wraiths and Choppers) until you hit the main tunnel. On a rock is a ghost. Get the health pack on the wall of the building to the right of the ghost and then get into the ghost. From that point on, avoid everything. Always CUT RIGHT. When you hit the part with the orange turrets—you cannot avoid them. Simply boost your way literally through them, and that should break them and take out the person inside. Then, just gun it right around the huge purple thing and drive off the edge (of course where you are instructed to).
Average time: 5-30 mins
Notes: To make it easy for you, click here for a video on it.

This wont apply to most/if any of my audience.

But having being good with coding and computers, I have created a website (WikiSpace) that shows you cool feautures in WikiSpace that you probably never have known.

For Those Who Do Not Know What WikiSpace Is

Our full-featured wikis offer unlimited usage and our stellar visual editor. Check out our plans and pricing, and see why our customers call us the best wiki out there.
Now hosting over 2,700,000 members and 1,100,000 wikis!

- Quoting the braggy WikiSpaces home page…

P.S. A wiki is basically a site that is open to public editing (most of the time without registration required). Ever heard of WIKIpedia? OOOoooOOOh. There you go.

So, if you have started up your WikiSpace, and you think you have the hang of it all. Then you are wrong.

I know, harsh.

Visit now, to learn stuff you did not know before. (Public editing has been temporarily turned off.)

A big pain in the butt are the Facebook ads on the right and bottom of all the pages.

However, I have recently found a way to get rid of them thanks to the FireFox plugin: Greasemonkey.

Greasemonkey bascially hosts its own add-ons/plugins, and one of them removes Facebook ads.

So here is all you have to do:

Download Greasemonkey (must be in FireFox) by clicking on these words (be sure to reboot FireFox once installed).

Download the Facebook ad remover (must have installed Greasemonkey and be in FireFox) by clicking on these words.

Mat down at Aqua-Soft Forums has been working away at a cool looking clone of Front Row.

For some people, Sarah Media would not function, so for those people, here is a better and more stable one.

This program is built more for people who want a home theatre library.

To make installation easy, I have made an installer for it.
However, for personal use, I renamed it to Home Theatre Library. (It was originally called K! Media Center)

Before you go and download it, the default location for the files for the library is under your main hard drive’s Documents and Settings > All Users > Documents

To modify the default locations, please go to your Start Menu and click Run.

It took me a few days to find the real answer to this problem. I can now play with my friends without joining through other friends. I got to give it to TommCcann.net, they are the real life savers—wow, I sound very geeky.

But enough of the chitter chatter, and more of the boring yet helpful information.

Here I have simplified his/her/hir’s tutorial for everyone so that it works well with the new Xbox 360 dashboard design and the new DLink (and the old DLink) design:

Step 1

In the New X360 Experience, you can access your Network Settings by going to the My Xbox tab/section and scrolling all the way to the right until you hit System Settings at the end. Inside, you will find Network Settings.
Click Configure Network.

Now enter in all of this information by setting the 2 sections at the end of the settings list to Manual (this is where a keyboard comes in handy):

IP Address : 192.168.0.250
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.0.1.

First & Secondary DNS : 192.168.0.1

Step 2

Now login to your Network Settings on your computer. Do this by clicking >here< (and then minimize or move the window so you can follow this tutorial while working at the settings).
You will now be prompted with a login box, the default username and password is ‘admin’. If the password doesn’t work, try the password ‘blank’. If that doesn’t work, I don’t know what else.

Old Design (Blue and Gray Theme w/ Yellow Buttons) — Does your settings design look different from the blue and gray look? Yes, I have even thought about you. Click here.

Click on the Advanced tab at the top.
Fill out the form (rule #1) with the following information:

Enabled
Name: Live 1
Private IP: 192.168.0.250
Protocol Type: Both
Private Port: 88
Public Port: 88
Schedule: Always

Now hit Apply.

Make sure it has been added to the list below, and then we will add rule #2.
Fill out the form (rule #2) with the following information:

Enabled
Name: Live 2
Private IP: 192.168.0.250
Protocol Type: Both
Private Port: 2074
Public Port: 2074
Schedule: Always

Make sure it has been added to the list below, and then we will add rule #3. (Deja vu).
Fill out the form (rule #3) with the following information:

Enabled
Name: Live 3
Private IP: 192.168.0.250
Protocol Type: Both
Private Port: 3074
Public Port: 3074
Schedule: Always

Now make sure that has been added to the list below and you are done with the Network Settings on your PC. You can either reboot your Xbox with it’s new settings saved (just return to the main dashboard once you entered the settings on your console) or you can test your Xbox’s settings.

Hope it helps! Now that I have hopefully helped you, please vote on the poll (no registration or further questions) below this post or in the sidebar.

—End of Tutorial for Old Design Users—

New Design (Orange Header w/ Black Tabs and Grey Background)

This is very similar to setting this on the old design, but just with fancier words. Here is what you have to do:

Click on the Advanced tab at the top and go to Port Forwarding on the left.
Fill out a blank area (must be a TCP spot) on the list with the following information:

Name: Live 1
Application Name (Dropdown Menu)
TCP: 88
Schedule: Always

Make sure it is correct, and then we will continue.
Fill a blank area (must be a UDP spot) on the list with the following information:

IP Address: 192.168.0.250
Computer Name (Dropdown Menu)
UDP: 88
Inbound Filter: Allow All

Make sure it is correct, and then we will continue. (Deja vu).

Name: Live 2
Application Name (Dropdown Menu)
TCP: 2074
Schedule: Always

Make sure it is correct, and then we will continue.
Fill a blank area (must be a UDP spot) on the list (Live 1 part 2) with the following information:

IP Address: 192.168.0.250
Computer Name (Dropdown Menu)
UDP: 2074
Inbound Filter: Allow All

Scroll back up to the top of the page and click Save Settings and hope that it will not log you out, deleting everything you just added.

If successfully saved, you are done. Congratulations!
